The
mural "Kings Creek" is a collaboration of efforts. It was commissioned
by George Ow Jr. Twelve stainless steel rainbow trout were created and installed
by fabricator/ artist Darren Forbes. The mural is 3 feet high x 25 feet
long. It was completed over a period of six weeks, during which the season
changed from Winter to Spring. Andrew and his wife, Dori, worked together
on the project for 30 days. Due to the traffic and noise from the site,
it was a challenging place to make art. Added to that, the exposure to sun,
wind and rain was extreme. We had to devise ways to protect the work and
ourselves from the elements. Andrew constructed a plywood shanty and erected
umbrellas and tarps each day to create an environment we could work in.
It was a hardscrabble campaign, and we're glad to be through it. |
